Jumbled Birthday

Happy Sunday! Are Sunday's really happy? Hmmm...once you get to Sunday there's nothing but Monday to look forward to. I think Sunday's are only good when followed by a Monday holiday =)

Anywho, here's my card for the Color Lab challenge and A La Card Monkey challenge.....

I just kept adding until it looked ok. It started with plain pennants, no layers on the sentiment and no embossing. Then I remembered my very first SU! demonstrator Mary say, "Add layers, layers make a card." That was the best advice I could hear, I try to add layers on every card.....thanks Mary!

Here's my inspiration:

Two Cuties For You

I have two projects to day to share. Well I had one yesterday and one today but forgot to post yesterday so you get it today =)

The first one is really today's. I used the sketch at Eat Sleep Sketch and the color combo from Colour Q this week. Can you tell how much I love the lattice square embossing folder? I've used it for soooo many things, I'm really glad I got it. I added glitter with heat and stick powder to the top of the ice cream for some bling, it gave it some extra umph.

The bakers twine I made myself, see THIS post to make your own too!

Sketch 141

And now for my second project. I made the purse with this tutorial from Becky Roberts (my awesome upline). This was for my boss who's last day was Friday. She'll now be a Supervisor at another office, but still in our district.....we are all going to miss her! I had everyone write well wishes/thank you's on the 3x3 note cards and I put them in the purse.

I was intimidated at first by this purse but it's not as hard as it looks and Becky's instructions are very clear.

I hope your all having a great weekend so far! I'm off to tackle mowing the yard, call me crazy but I actually like doing it =)

Cherries!

I love cherries, my kitchen is decorated with cherry chachki's (I have no idea how to spell that but you get it right?). I meshed some cherry designed paper with the new super cool cherry stamp out of the Button Buddies set.

I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch HERE as inspiration:

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Real Red, OLd Olive, Whisper White, Brights DSP, DCWV summer stack
{Ink} SU! Real Red, Old Olive
{Stamp} SU! Button Buddies
{Extras} Scallop edge scissors

It's Black, It's White

This is the reason I do these challenges, to get out of my color world. I'm not a fan of black and white things, it reminds me of 6th grade and everyone used to wear black jeans and white t-shirts, soooo boring.

I used the A La Card Monkey sketch challenge HERE and I think it turned out ok. Out of my norm at least.

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Whisper White, Basic Black, DCWV design paper
{Ink} SU! Basic Black
{Stamp} SU! Happiest Birthday Wishes HOSTESS
{Extras} Spellbinders scallop die, circle cutter, pearls, EK Success border punch

I know I don't normally advertise the promos going on. Yeah not a very good businesswoman am I? =)

But I'd thought I'd share since every time I log onto the demonstrator site I get a reminder to share the promo soooooooooo I'm sharing.........

Birthday Girl

Today my baby turns 6....6?! Seriously, I swear I just had her. She is my princess with way too much sass and all her mama's attitude. She is the girly girl I never was and I love every second. Thanks to her I love the color pink =)

Here's her card, simple because it will be toted around the house for a month =)

I used the Card Patterns sketch HERE

Polka Dots

OMG! Please ignore the polka dots! I can't figure out for the life of my what I did to screw up my page.....I'm slowly going crazy with these dots...grrrrrr!!!!

Hopefully I can get rid of them before anyone knows they're there......

Cute Onesies

Just wanted to get this up quick, my neck is killing me so I'm gonna try to relax this weekend. i.e. no bending my neck down cutting little pieces of paper and making cute things. Hopefully after a day of rest I can get a couple more cards done tomorrow...cross you fingers!

These cards are courtesy of Paper Pal Arts sketch 103 and it was super easy. I can already think of a couple ways to change it up to make new cards.

I cut the onesies out by hand and popped the center onesie on each card out with pop dots. Added a tag and your done =)

Have a great weekend!

{Paper} SU! Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Regal Rose, Old Olive, So Saffron, Nursery Suite DSP

Swee Sunday Sketch

Good Morning! So I found another use for the Sweets for the Sweets set. And I did paper piecing for the first time =)

Paper piecing is easy peasy. Just stamp image in black ink on patterned paper and cut out, makes such a statement I think. Karen Giron is a master at this, I always love her stuff!

Here's the sketch this week at Sweet Sunday Sketch

Dark Combo

I am sooooo late posting today. I forgot to set my blog to automatically publish the post so I'm doing it tonight instead.

A very nice easy card, with a color comb I would have NEVER ever in my own mind used, but I must admit I really like these colors. Very fallish. I stamped the image on cardstock first, then stamped it again on a scrap piece and cut and glittered it. Adhered with pop dots, add a button and you got!

I wish summer would leave, I'm ready for Halloween cards =)

Here's the challenges I used: Clean & Simple and Create, Ink

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Brights DSP
{Ink} Rich Razzleberry
{Stamp} SU! Button Buddies
{Extras} Buttons #5 die, scallop edge scissors, bakers twine, heat & stick powder, dazzling diamonds glitter, lattice embossing folder
, pop dots
