MOJO #213

It's Sunday! It's raining! The only thing more perfect is if tomorrow were a holiday and I didn't have to go to work =)

I'm feeling a little craftier this weekend so I've been making some cards. I really need to be making my Christmas cards but I keep avoiding making them like the plague. I just don't wanna do it, maybe I won't send any out.....yeah that won't happen but I threaten every year.

I love this Spice Cake DSP in the Holiday Mini catalog. I didn't get it at first, but I gave in. I'm so glad I did, the combination of colors is just so warm and inviting. Very fallish.

Sketch comes courtesy of MOJO Monday #213

I embossed the More Mustard piece on a texturez plate and then rubbed it on my More Mustard ink pad to make the embossing stand out. It was my first attempt and I kinda like the way it came out. I also kinda snapped my C plate for my Cuttlebug in the process. But I'm ghetto and glued it right back together! Who needs to buy something new when you have E6000 glue and some vices?!

It's sporadically raining here today in SoCal so I'm staying in, avoiding the crazy drivers and enjoying the coolness. Oh and the Chiefs game =)

Happy Sunday!

Candy Corn

I love how candy corn is everywhere on the internet this time of year. Me, personally, I hate the stuff. It's gross, smells funny and tastes horrible but it sure is cute to decorate with!

I don't remember where I saw it at, either Pinterest or the SU! Demo showcase, but anyway I came across a card by Susan Carlson and it inspired my card. Click HERE and you can see her card as she gives you exact measurements to make your own candy corn! I made my candy corn into a simple banner with the word SWEET stamped below. To soften the edges, I just rounded the corners and VOILA a simple yet cute card =)

Inkspirational Sunflower

I've been trying to use my dies that I have lately. They look pretty on my shelf but they make even prettier things =)

I played along with Inspirations Challenge #91 for my card this time. I sponged just the tips of the More Mustard petals with Early Espresso ink to make them pop a little. I also ran the Very Vanilla cardstock on top through the Pattern 1 texture plate for some added oomph. You can't really tell in the picture but the Pool Party strip was run through the crimper a number of times to give it a really worn down look.

Alrighty, it's Monday and my first day back.....cross your fingers I survive!
