Cute Monster CP Sketch 133

Ok, so the picture isn't the best but you get the idea, right? =)

I brought out the trusty Cricut for this card. I have discovered I do not have an abundance of Halloween stamp sets, or large stamps for that matter. So meet Henry. That's his name, well technically according to the Cricut his name is Icky, but I prefer Henry.

You can find the sketch at Card Patterns Sketch 133

Ok I'm off for another week of "Where's My Package?" a.k.a. work =)

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Rich Razzelberry, Lucky Limeaide, Basic Black, Basic Gray; DCWV glitter stack
{Stamp} Recollections Monster

Mandatory

That's it, I call for mandatory 3 day weekends from now on...anyone with me?! Good!

This was a much needed wonderful weekend. I got so much accomplished, and hey I even got a card made =) Nothing fancy just cute. I love the color combo too. Slowly but surely I've been adding colors to my SU! cardstock. I just ordered Crumb Cake (seen here) and I'm glad I did, it beats using Whisper White and Very Vanilla for most of my cards.

I also used the new Triple Layer Blossom punch and added some bling to the flowers.

Ok I'm off to deal with Tuesday, but it's ok, it's only a 4 day work week and 9 working days till my official VACATION!

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Baja Breeze
{Ink} SU! Basic Black, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz
{Stamp} SU! Fun & Fast Notes
{Extras} SU! Triple Layer blossom punch, rhinestone brad, rhinestone bling-y, Cricut (oval)

....I can't. That's a lot of rambling about cards as my DH would say!

Spring has Sprung! At least here in SoCal it has. What better way to celebrate but with this cute bird {Sketch courtesy of Eat Sleep Stamp} =)

One of my co-workers brought her Cricut magazine (bad, bad, bad for me 'cause now I want it) and I got in a Cricut mood this weekend. She also gave me the Cricut Birthday Cakes cartridge...(she's so awesome and crafty too, I have great co-workers) so I was on a mission!

I had this bird paper from a Recycled DCWV stack and the bird matched perfectly. I also learned I can use my Fiskars embossing plates in my Cuttlebug....wahoooooooo (so I dusted them off) I was one happy camper =) I even added some "bling" on the hat. Very simple and easy.

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Baja Breeze, Real Red, DCWV stack
{Extras} Ribbon, crystal, Cricut Birthday Cakes cartridge

Back in the Swing of Things

Wow...I'm back, I hope. After nearly 2 weeks of a migraine it's subsided....I think/hope! So I thought I'd do a nice easy card, something I didn't have to think about too much =) I played along with CardPatterns for the sketch and Off the Wall Craftiness for the colors.

See, nice and simple =)

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Antsy

I have a love/hate relationship with the "other guys" who deliver Stampin' UP! packages. I hate waiting but love when it gets here! So here I am on vacation waiting for the delivery guy to come =( I figured since I was away for a few days I'd share a card, not a great one but a card nonetheless.

This card's sketch comes courtesy of Tracy over at Eat, Sleep, Stamp. This is Sketchy Thursday #120. I made this last night when we got back. The swirl design is debossed from an embossing folder. It was originally embossed the right way but I didn't get the design to the bottom completely so I folded it the other direction and covered the bottom with DSP. That's why I love papercrafting. I can screw up something and then make it look good =)

Since my oval punches are awaiting delivery I got out my Cricut and cut the egg design from last year's Easter 2010 cartridge. The colors again are outta my zone so hopefully tonight I can get my color mojo back and make some "good" cards.

It's 4 now so hopefully he shows up soon!!!!! I NEED my box of goodies =) So this is what it's like when people call me waiting for their package to show up and its not there yet....

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette, Peach Parfait. DCWV flower DSP
{Extras} Swirl and polka dot embossing folder, Cricut Easter 2010 cartridge

The Tooth Fairy Has Arrived

Once I saw this stamp, I HAD to have it, so I ordered it with my Starter Kit =)

My youngest has her first loose tooth! We've been putting The Boy's lost teeth in a plastic bag and putting it near his pillow when he looses a tooth. After getting this stamp, something definitely had to been done to make losing teeth cute. For The Boy I just cut two tags from my Cricut and put them together with Sticky Tape. For The Girl I busted out my Silhouette and cut an envelope out, embossed it and put it together with Sticky Tape. The Boy is no frills just plain and so that's what he got. The girl is the epitome of "girly" so I went all out with glitter and embossing. They both loved them! Now to make sure the Tooth Fairy doesn't go broke, I'm off to work, 3 days of training for public speaking =(

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Old Olive, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
{Ink} Old Olive, Rose Red, Daffodil Delight
{Accessories} Cricut, Silhouette, 2" scallop punch, ribbon, brads, Dazzling Diamonds, Heat & Stick Powder

Merry Christmas Baby

Merry Christmas....well not yet but it came early for me. As we know Black Friday is a day you can get some amazing deals. This year my Hunny got me the Cricut Expression from Walmart. It was actually cheaper last year but I had just gotten the Personal Cricut and didn't think I NEEDED the Expression...I was wrong, I was very wrong and for an entire year did not realize it. Being able to create things in 1/4" increments is absolutely amazing! Oh the excitement of creating Marvin the Elf....words cannot describe it, I think angels were in my head singing "Halleluja" though =) I got the purple one and she is so purdy sitting just waiting for me to use her (yes it's a her, just don't have a name for "her" yet).

I also got out my Christmas decorations this long weekend and was a little OCD. I brought in 4 boxes and sorted them by Christmas theme. (Yes, themes again) I have my Gingerbread/Peppermint theme, Snowman theme, Nutcracker-this years theme and a miscellaneous box of odds and ends of tinsel and stockings. Since the Nutcracker is the theme this year I needed ornaments. I picked these guys up at Michaels in the $1 bin up front and hot glued the strings to their hats. These were much easier than my original plan. In the wood department they had blank nutcrackers ready to be painted, I had those in my hand when I saw these ones. I'm all about time so forget paining myself, I'll buy the ready-made ones. Now to get the tree up and find the rest of my nutcracker decorations.

One Time Only

I don't think I'm alone in saying/thinking this that although my DH ooh's and aah's over my cards, he could care less about them. Basically it's like when he shows me Hot Wheels, yeah there are some cool ones but really they aren't my thing. Cards are like that with him but this one was different. I showed him my finished project and he said "wow I really like that one"! Not the normal "oooh cool" it was a genuine "I like it"! I should have stopped there because then I asked why do you like it, is it the color combo, etc....he said I don't know, I just like it.....eh works for me =)

I added some clear glitter glue to the wings so they had a little sparkle and also added some white matte glitter to the salt shaker for an extra umph. The watermelon seeds on the left are cut from my Cricut, pretty cute huh?!

Paper: DCWV
Ink: SU!
Stamp: Stampendous

Markers: Martha Stewart

A Mountain of Toys

Here's another one of those sets that I swore I was going to use for so many things and have yet to do so. I didn't want to just use "traditional" colors for this card. This sleigh was screaming for bright but fun so pink and teal it was! I think the colors turned out pretty sweet. I am getting better at my coloring I think, at least it doesn't look like my DD colored it =)

MOJO #120

Well, so far so good on my card making! I made 3 this week (2 more than I planned for). I did my MOJO Monday challenge for the week and then a couple birthday cards for friends. The first pic is of my MOJO challenge. I made the card, however it just doesn't "hit" me. You know when you do something and it just doesn't feel right? Well this is the card. I played around with it but nothing made it better. Oh well there's always next week right?!

Ingredients
Paper: Great Paper Co, DCWV, Recollections
Ink: Martha Stewart
Stamp: SU! Big Blooms
Cuttlebug with Swiss Dots & Circles embossing folders
Edging scissors
Eyelets

Here's one of my other cards. I came across a new blog and loved this card, so I tweaked it a little and made my own. It's for a friend's son's birthday, I so hope he likes it!

Ingredients
Paper: Recollections, background is just a scrap
Ink: Memories
Cricut w/Home Decor & George and Basic Shapes cartridge
Stamps: Changito by Stampendous, mini alphabet set from Target

Little did I plan it, but this was the 3rd year in a row I've made handmade ornaments for our tree. In 2007 we bought a foam box set at Michaels with gingerbready people and houses and glitter glued them. Last year I got the idea from Martha Stewart and made glitter ornaments. Now that was a work of love because it took forever to finish those! This year we just didn't get the Christmas stuff out of storage so I made ornaments with my Cricut!

Nothing special, just put in the cardstock and picked my ornament from the "All Mixed Up" cartridge. At first I made 2" ones because we were just going to get a tabletop tree. Lo and behold we found a 6' one on clearance so I had to make 3" ornaments too =) I also added a Christmas stamp to the inside of the ornament so it wasn't so plain. If I'd thought of this in early December it would have been cute to embellish the ornaments like a red nose on the reindeer. I also made a "Merry Christmas" sign to put above the computer desk.

Have fun and Merry Christmas!
