Got Buttons?

I saw this color combo and decided to try it, the more involved it got the scarier it got. Finally I gave up and said "whatever"! Remind me if I ever get the notion to use these colors together to please smack me....not good but here it is.

I did like using bakers twine to give the inside some love too......

Back to Normalcy

Like all good things my vacation came to an end. I didn't win the lotto so staying home was not an option....BOO! But I did get some projects accomplished that I'll post here once I get pics of them. This is one of the projects...



It's a countdown to the new Breaking Dawn moving from the Twilight Series. I made this for my coworker who L-O-V-E-S Twilight, she's the one who actually got me hooked on the books. (Actually there are now 150 days until it's out) Hopefully she'll like it! It was the easiest to make too, just some wood, paint and vinyl and it was done.

Hopefully today will be a nice transition back to work with not too many people yelling...yeah probably not but I can still dream right?! =)

Me, that's who!

Yeah I know I went MIA for a while. I got sick, like bad sick, the kind you lose 10 lbs in 3 days, then took some time to recover and so here I am, back again =)

I've only made a couple cards since I've felt better and those aren't "show your stuff for the world to see" cards 'cause they are kinda not good.....so I decided to go with some frames I made a while back. The first I cut Cricut images out of the Birthday Cakes cartridge. Had I paid attention I would have flipped them so they matched the pattern on the paper. Oh well, I'll pretend I was going for the "opposite look".



This one was easy peasy, just add paper and ribbon and your done!


I've done frames before but I've realized there's an easier way than what I used to do. I used to put Modge Podge on the frame then cover in paper and after it was dry cut around the frame. Then I decided that didn't work and cut the paper first then Modge Podged it. Now I'm all for Modge Podge, great stuff, wonderful even, but for frames I despise it!

I now use spray adhesive and I love it! Here's the steps in case you want to try it to:

1) Paint edges in desired color with acrylic paint. Don't forget inside edges. Let dry
2) Cover painted edges with painters tape. This way edges won't get spray adhesive on them.
3) GO OUTSIDE! Spray adhesive on the frame where you want the paper.
4) Carefully, very carefully lay your paper where you want it. You don't get much of a second chance so make sure you put the paper where you want it the first time.
5) Smooth out the paper making sure there are no bubbles.
6) Cut around edges with x-acto blade.
7) Sand edges so paper is smooth.
8) Display a cute fun picture of anything you want =)

Not using Modge Podge makes the whole process so much faster because there is no drying time.

Nothing Like Hot Pink

There is nothing like the color hot pink.....or in this case Melon Mambo =) I used a sketch, forgot what sketch I used and am kicking myself. I hate when I do that because I can't enter the sketch contest =(


Oh well. A while ago I saw this painting dealy at Target and said that would be a pretty card, if it were's so huge. Time goes by and I forget about it until I look at my Valentine Defined set and decided to replicate the painting on a card. I just used white ink and I think it looks simple yet elegant. I held back on adding glitter to the hearts....it took everything in my being not to do that because I love glitter! So a simple card today, no promises for tomorrow though =)

The Tooth Fairy Has Arrived

Once I saw this stamp, I HAD to have it, so I ordered it with my Starter Kit =)

My youngest has her first loose tooth! We've been putting The Boy's lost teeth in a plastic bag and putting it near his pillow when he looses a tooth. After getting this stamp, something definitely had to been done to make losing teeth cute. For The Boy I just cut two tags from my Cricut and put them together with Sticky Tape. For The Girl I busted out my Silhouette and cut an envelope out, embossed it and put it together with Sticky Tape. The Boy is no frills just plain and so that's what he got. The girl is the epitome of "girly" so I went all out with glitter and embossing. They both loved them! Now to make sure the Tooth Fairy doesn't go broke, I'm off to work, 3 days of training for public speaking =(

Coloring Can Be Fun

Happy Thursday! It's almost Friday and I can't wait, my head is swimming with ideas. So here's my card for today. When I got my demo kit there was a blender pen in it. I had never ever used a blender pen and it was very intimidating. I emailed Becky, my upline and asked what to do....she gave me some great tips and this is what I ended up with =) Had I paid attention to the stamp I would have painted the vase a different color, a little too much green for me with the leaves and all. All in all I think an ok job for my first try. I'm not too into coloring so don't count on a whole lot of post with my non-existence coloring skills =)

Pink Dahlia

So is everyone exhausted after Black Friday?! I love it! All the excitement, heart pounding deals and lack of sleep.....how can you resist a pair of kids jammies for $4?! Let alone Cricut cartridges on sale too!

Sooooooo my Thanksgiving cards had the Dahlia fold feathers and I thought I'd share a card I did a few years ago. I had seen a card while blog hopping and loved it. The blog said she'd found it on Splitcoast so I went there and got the tutorial on it. I did this card maybe 3 years ago or so, I remember it was before we moved down to SoCal and that's been over 2 years now. Anywho this was and has been my favorite card just because it looks so intricate but is so super easy.....here ya go =)

Oh oh oh and I figured out how to add a watermark over my pictures.....I was doing a happy dance while my DH just looked at me and smiled, it's the little things that make me happy!

Wrinkles

Thank goodness Monday is over! Today was one of those days at work I just wanted to crawl in a hole because I was tired of being yelled at. This card is one of my favorites. I absolutely love the colors on here. I also love the stamp....I totally agree with her! After today I think I gained an extra 3 wrinkles from customers.
