Sketchy Hearts

There's a plus and minus to having sick kids. The minus are 2 grumpy sick kids who are whiny, the plus is we stay home the entire weekend and mom gets crafty when they finally conk out for a much needed nap.

With Valentine's Day just around the corner I really haven't made a whole lot of cards like last year. I figure I only need one for my one Valentine =)

I used the sketch over at Eat, Sleep, Stamp with Tracy and I went through 3 different cards before I finished this one. I'd start a card and then scrap it midway through because it was so horrible. Am I the only one who does this?

I sponged the embossing to give it a distressed look and made the details pop a little. I also used dimensionals on the hearts to bring them front & center instead of just blending into the background. And really, what is a card without bakers twine?

Hope everyone has a happy Tuesday!

All items SU!
{Paper} Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black {Ink} Versamark, Craft Whisper White {Stamp} Filled With Love (retired) {Extras} red glitter, Cherry Cobbler bakers twine, jewelry tag punch, full heart punch, Perfect Details texture plate

On a completely non stamping issue, I would like to introduce our newest family member.........

meet Marty! Yes, Marty is a giraffe, a 6 1/2 foot giraffe to be exact. Since I was in high school I always said I was going to own a giraffe named Marty one day. Well folks, that day was Saturday. My son and husband found this giraffe at a yard sale for only a few dollars and he is now mine! Don't ask me why a giraffe and don't ask why Marty because I don't remember but I can say HE IS AWESOME! He's going straight to my craft room to guard all my goodies =)
