Halloween Hauntings

I didn't get anything done this week due to a fun migraine. So I thought I'd share some of my Halloween decorations I put up new this year. Ideas all came from Pinterest pins, you can check out my boards HERE

~Frank's hair is made of felt, the rest is paper
~I wish I had a traditional mantle but I have to make do with what I have.

Could not get rid of the glare....just replaced my normal "Keep Calms" with Halloween printables

~Hanging bat-mobile on the chandelier ~Spooky mice on the stairs cut-outs from Dollar Tree

I still need to finish Halloween costumes but I still have a day and a half left =)

Have a great Saturday everyone!

A Hot Wheel Thank You

When we were at the Hot Wheels convention, we attended the dinner there and it was in honor of the collector this year being it was the 25th annual convention. Anywho, they give out very limited cars and Diane Strauss (founder of the HW Newsletter) came over and gave my daughter her pink car! Ahhhhhhhh!!!!! Everyone at our table had their jaws open just flabergasted!

So I decided to make a thank you card and send some of the Hot Wheels coasters I've made as a thank you gift =)

I used the sketch at Card Patterns #138 for this one. The card is actually 3"x6" and the scallop circle was 5 1/2" (cut in half) the DSP circle is 5" (cut in half)

To make the scallop, I took the guard off of my corner rounder and made the half circle scalloped. Check out THIS post at Splitcoast for instructions.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Sketchy Flower

Another lazy Sunday here in SoCal. The Chief-Raider game isn't on here. I swear it's the only place in California where you can't see a Raider game unless they play the Chargers....no I am not a Raider fan....Chiefs all the way!

I've been getting some crafting in though, I've made some super cute Post-It holders I'll have to share later (they're drying now).

This card I made for the ESS #151 challenge. I love Tracy's sketches because, well, I just do....

Easy peasy and I even used the flower I made for another card last week but didn't end up using. Very cool =)

Candy Corn

I love how candy corn is everywhere on the internet this time of year. Me, personally, I hate the stuff. It's gross, smells funny and tastes horrible but it sure is cute to decorate with!

I don't remember where I saw it at, either Pinterest or the SU! Demo showcase, but anyway I came across a card by Susan Carlson and it inspired my card. Click HERE and you can see her card as she gives you exact measurements to make your own candy corn! I made my candy corn into a simple banner with the word SWEET stamped below. To soften the edges, I just rounded the corners and VOILA a simple yet cute card =)

Card Pattern #137

This card perplexed me. Ever had that happen to you? I just kept looking at it and looking at it. I know I didn't add the embellishment flower-button thingy, but I just couldn't. Nothing I put there looked right so I just let it be.

Card Patterns #137 was my guide for this card. I do like how the border punch, which I think is supposed to be like notebook paper, looks like a fence =)

Kinda plain, but sometimes I like plain.....Happy Wednesday!

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Ice Cream Parlor DSP (retired)

{Ink} SU! Peach Parfait, Old Olive

{Stamp} SU! Got Treats
{Extras} EK Success border punch, corner rounder punch, dimensionals

Love Balloons

I'm ahead of myself! I used this weeks sketch at Clean & Simple #162 for my anniversary card to my Hunny. Our anniversary isn't until November but I'm always late making a card. Late as in that morning scrambling to put a card together. I know, horrible for a person who makes cards huh?!

I've been having fun playing around with my new texture plates. They do take some getting used to because every machine is different, but they are a fun tool that can make a big difference!

I paper pieced the balloons and used SU! dimensionals for more of floating effect.

Have a great Tuesday!

{Ink} SU! So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede

Inkspirational Sunflower

I've been trying to use my dies that I have lately. They look pretty on my shelf but they make even prettier things =)

I played along with Inspirations Challenge #91 for my card this time. I sponged just the tips of the More Mustard petals with Early Espresso ink to make them pop a little. I also ran the Very Vanilla cardstock on top through the Pattern 1 texture plate for some added oomph. You can't really tell in the picture but the Pool Party strip was run through the crimper a number of times to give it a really worn down look.

Alrighty, it's Monday and my first day back.....cross your fingers I survive!

Ingredients:
{Paper}SU! Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Pool Party, Spice Cake DSP
{Ink} SU! Early Espresso, White craft
{Stamp} SU! Tiny Tags
{Extras} SU! Jewelry Punch, Pattern 1 texture plate, Daisies #2 die, crimper, Early Espresso baker's twine

Test Tube Fun

Since test tubes are the latest rage I sent the hubby out in search of them last weekend. He did not disappoint and brought me back 3 packs of 'em! I had heard rumors on Pinterest of Martha Stewart having new test tubes out. The rumors are fact people! And I got the last 3 packs our Michaels had!

And just when I thought I was going to have to make my own tutorial for a test tube holder, low and behold the magicians at Splitcoast already had one! You can go HERE and get the deets (details) on making your own.

ENJOY and have a great Saturday!
