I've been MIA for a few days and probably will be for a few more. Battling a bad migraine. Hope to feel better soon, so I can post some cute spring stuff =)

Fancy Folds

I will never get tired of the Dahlia fold. I love it, it's hard at first but once you get the hang of it, it's awesome! I made this card to play along with Creative Sketches Technique Challenge.

It's a fancy fold challenge so.....I fancy foldedededed a card =) I used some crazy retired DSP....crazy because I bought it at my old SU! demos yardsale when I first got into this paper craft hobby/obsession at least 5 years ago! I have no idea what the name is but I like the colors =) It's taken me 5 years to be able to cut the DSP, I know for for some reason it drives me crazy to actually "use" paper. I always think that once I use it then I won't have and will then "need" it for another project. Some people might call it hoarding....I call it love of paper. Hehe

Notice the "bling" in the middle of the dahlia? I'm trying to embellish more, it's hard to hop outta my box and go for something different but I'm really trying......

Happy Hump Day!

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! So Saffron, crazy old retired SU! DSP
{Ink} SU! Bashful Blue
{Stamp} SU! Afterthoughts
{Extras} crystal brad, flower brads

Bunny Bunny Who's Got the Bunny?

I'm so excited for this card! I love the colors and I've had this stamp and couldn't figure a use for it. Enter Fun Flock, and Crystal Effects =)

Sketch comes from Sweet Sunday Sketch #109. I needed something bright after a few days of the warmer colors. Rose Red is one of my colors I just got and so glad I did. It's so bright and can go in either a bright or dark color direction.

Now these bunnies are a $1 stamp out of the dollar bin at Michael's last year, coulda been the year before but I'm not positive. I just know it's been in my box for a while now without being used.

I've been having fun using the fun flock and it made these bunnies go from boring to bright in just a few seconds. Now, notice the buttons under the bunnies...wanna know how to make 'em? I got the idea HERE at Yolanda's blog. Super easy, just punch out some paper, put on top of a glue dot, cover in Crystal Effects....wa-al instant embellishment. I can't wait to try this with my Itty Bitty punches!

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Rose Red, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Brights DSP
{Ink} SU! Basic Black
{Stamp} Dollar bin outta Michaels
{Extras} Crystal Effects, Fun Flock, 1/4" circle punch, 1/8" circle punch, ribbon, glue dots

OWH Challenge 61

What a day to spend yesterday....making cards with the rain =) It was nice to get some rain on the last day off because I love me some rain! Maybe not as much as what came but it's still nice.

This card I played along with the OWH sketch and used the SAB Bliss set. I can't believe I didn't order this set with my first SAB order, I so missed out using a cute, fun set for a month. My colors again are on the warmer side but still springish. I even went out and put some bling on my flower, I'm not big on embellishing, I'm a very plain gal so it was a little weird to "add" something.

Hope ya'll have a great Monday, I'm just hoping after a week of being gone I don't get yelled at too much. I did miss the full moon which always seems to bring on the yellers =) Keeping my fingers crossed!

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Whisper White, Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Sunny Garden DSP
{Ink} SU! Certainly Celery, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie
{Stamp} SU! Bliss
{Extras} embossing folder, faux pearl

New Color Palette

Today is Sunday, the kids and my last day of Spring Break....how did it go by so fast?! Well at least I got some cards made and my room cleaned and had some fun!

This card is from Card Patterns #107 sketch

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, random designer paper not sure what company
{Stamp} SU! Party Hearty
{Ink} SU! Chocolate Chip
{Extras} Brown twine, polka dot embossing folder

So as I was blog stalking today I came across a cute card here at Craft Project Central. After peeking at the Summer Mini I have a new favorite color palette (as if you couldn't tell). Their card was more springy but I love these warmer colors for spring as well. I also love punches, my new hobby =) I love the Decorative Label punch, it's so versatile and I can't wait to find more uses for it like my Cupcake punch.

Since I had my flock out for the other day I decided to add flock to the butterflies...you know since their furry right?! Hehe I outlined the edges on the top label punch to make it stand out a bit.

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Pumpkin Pie, Baja Breeze, random design paper not sure what company
{Ink} SU! Pumpkin Pie
{Stamp} Bliss
{Extras} SU! Butterfly punch, Decorative Label punch, glue pen, flock

Quick Saturday Post

Happy Saturday! Ugh, I want a recount of days, I don't think I've had as many off as I should =)

I did these two cards yesterday as I waited for it to rain. (It didn't rain) This card I used the color challenge from Inkspirations and the sketch from Clean & Simple. When I saw the sketch I thought of using different circle images. After fighting with some clear stamps I went with cutting different size circles out of paper, using the negative and sponging the ink on the paper so it only was in the circle stencil. I have so many clear stamps but NONE of them work. I'm glad I'm a SU! stamp gal because our stamps NEVER have this problem! After looking at the circles they reminded me of the dandelions in my grass. I have oodles of flock so I flocked them and they turned out pretty cute =)

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Whisper White, Nursery Suite DSP
{Ink} SU! Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz
{Extras} Fun Flock

And for my second card 'o the day is this wheelbarrow of flowers. The sketch comes from Eat Sleep Stamp and colors from Off The Wall Craftiness. This is the first time I'm actually using this wheelbarrow. It's now retired but when it first came out I HAD TO HAVE IT. I swore I would use it soooooo much....wrong. I never could figure out what to use it with. Today it hold a ton of flowers from Itty Bitty Bits =) A nice way to start spring, even though we're due for over an inch of rain this weekend in SoCal, crazy weather in a crazy place!

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Sunny Garden DSP
{Ink} SU! Poppy Parade, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, silver other brand
{Stamp} SU! The Wheel Thing (retired), Itty Bitty Bits, So Happy For You
{Extras} SU! Itty Bitty Bits punch, pop dots, mini glue dots

St. Paddy's a Day Late

So as I was attempting to clean up my crafting room I came across a St. Patrick's day card I never posted. How dare I! It was cute too so I decided to share it a day late. If I'm not mistaken I think this was a Card Patterns sketch but I'm not positive. I didn't realize how crooked my circles were until I posted the pic. The circles look like they had too much green beer yesterday ;)

I did this card for the challenge over at Victorine Stamps blog. I just forgot to post it....oops =)

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Old Olive, Brights DSP
{Extras} Circle cutter, SU! Small heart punch, brads

Easy Notebook

So here's another of my ideas that I've been wanting to do but hadn't made the time. It's a super easy notebook holder. It takes one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and some cute DSP. I added a pocket on the inside of the holder so that the back cardboard of the notebook can slip inside so it doesn't move around and you can always refill the holder. I also added a strip of DSP along the top to purdy it up.

I'm not a fan of this DSP from the Ice Cream Parlor Sale-A-Bration pack. The other side is really cute but in all fairness I thought I should give this side a chance too. It turned out ok, not as bright and fun as I normally like but a nice gift when I need a quick gift. =)

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Ice Cream Parlor DSP
{Extras} Quote, brads, ribbon

Big 'ole Flower

Another late in the day post for me. I was actually out getting a staple gun to replace the one that broke so that I can finish refinishing my dining chairs. We got the table from dear friends and she loves roosters, so that's what's on the chairs now....roosters. They're ok but don't go with my room. I bought the fabric when me moved in 10 months ago and still haven't done it. Hopefully I can get some staples that fit 'cause the ones we have now are too big....BOO!

At least it gave me time to finish another card =) This one is for Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch HERE. I got the Slice of Life hostess set and loved this image. I think they look like cherry blossoms so that's exactly how I colored them. I also saw this humungous flower embellishment that I had to try so I added that one one the card too. Since the embellishment is so large I will definitely not be mailing this one. I can only imagine the horror of how it would look when it went through automation and the machine ate the card!

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Whisper White; American Crafts DSP
{Ink} SU! Basic Black, Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Old Olive
{Stamp} SU! Slice of Life
{Extras} SU! Scallop circle, brad, blender pen

My OCD Card

Yes I know, 2 posts in 1 day...that's what vacation does, makes me crafty =) This is my OCD card for the simple fact I wouldn't glue it down until I had each button matched up with the opposing color and although it should have been easy, it slowly but surely made me lose my mind (not that losing my mind is very hard). I swear for such an easy looking card it took forever to finish!

I saw this sketch over on Diva Coffee Break and knew I had a die to cut the squares....how could I resist?! I also got a new button die that I wanted to try out and thought it would look kinda cute.

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Peach Parfait, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Ice Cream Parlor DSP, Brights DSP
{Extras} Cuttlebug scalloped squares die, Sizzix Buttons #5 die, ribbon

Easter Basket w/Eggs!

How did Wednesday get here already? I'm half way through my vacation and haven't done half of what I wanted. Why does that always happen?! I finally got my box-o-goodies yesterday right before 5 o'clock! I heard the doorbell, literally ran to get the door and thanked the delivery guy and ran back in to open the fun. The reason is because I had a card in mind and NEEDED the oval punches to finish it. I'm not the only one to do this right? =)

I peeked in at Lee
na's card here and fell in love with the baskets filled with eggs. Such a simple idea and so easy. I've never done anything punch-arty but this was fun. The basket is the cupcake wrapper and the handle is the lg and med oval punch. The eggs are my personal favorite, I just punched the sm heart with some random DSP I had laying on my desk. I adhered the eggs kinda sideways so that only one side of the heart stuck out so they looked like eggs. Once I had the card together the green strip was blank at first. Since I got the Itty Bitty Bits & punch for Sale-A-Bration I added 5 flowers punched and adhered to the green strip. Wa-la! Instant Easter card!

Alrighty I'm off to work on more cards and play with my goodies. I need to get some easy things together for an Easter workshop =)

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Pear Pizzazz, Rose Red, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip
{Ink} SU! Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz, white gel pen
{Stamp} SU! Itty Bitty Bits, Martha Stewart background stamp (basket weave)
{Extras} SU! Med. and Lg. Oval punch, Itty Bitty Bits punch, Cupcake punch, 1" circle punch, Sm. Heart punch

Antsy

I have a love/hate relationship with the "other guys" who deliver Stampin' UP! packages. I hate waiting but love when it gets here! So here I am on vacation waiting for the delivery guy to come =( I figured since I was away for a few days I'd share a card, not a great one but a card nonetheless.

This card's sketch comes courtesy of Tracy over at Eat, Sleep, Stamp. This is Sketchy Thursday #120. I made this last night when we got back. The swirl design is debossed from an embossing folder. It was originally embossed the right way but I didn't get the design to the bottom completely so I folded it the other direction and covered the bottom with DSP. That's why I love papercrafting. I can screw up something and then make it look good =)

Since my oval punches are awaiting delivery I got out my Cricut and cut the egg design from last year's Easter 2010 cartridge. The colors again are outta my zone so hopefully tonight I can get my color mojo back and make some "good" cards.

It's 4 now so hopefully he shows up soon!!!!! I NEED my box of goodies =) So this is what it's like when people call me waiting for their package to show up and its not there yet....

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette, Peach Parfait. DCWV flower DSP
{Extras} Swirl and polka dot embossing folder, Cricut Easter 2010 cartridge

So here's my latest creation....I got the idea for the tealights here and have been wanting to make these since I saw the post.

I finally got around to doing them and decided they needed a box, so I made a box. Yes, made...no template, no help, no nothing....all me! Yay I can do something =)

Just a quick post today, hope you all have a great Thursday!

Way Outta The Comfort Zone

This card has got to be the most "outta my zone" I've ever done. The colors are very far away from my normal spectrum of brights or pastels. I said that I need to put in an order and nab some new paper and this proves it =) I have oodles and oodles of scrapbook paper so I used some of it along with one of my favorite non SU! stamp sets.

I love Inkadinkado's sayings stamps. These are quotes from kids and they are hilarious. This is one of my personal favorites because you can use it for a young or young at heart person =) I used a handprints stamps from who know that I got in a huge lot of miscellaneous stamps a few years ago.

The sketch is from Karen Giron's blog ...the sweetest thing. Her sketches are always so simple and this time she gave us the measurements for the rectangles....yay!

I'm off to help with Consumer Affairs National Consumer Protection Week at a shredding event...wish me luck, it's my first event of this kind!

Ingredients
{Paper} SU! Chocolate Chip, DCWV Flower Shower stack
{Ink} SU! Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip

Easy Peasy Birthday

Todays card is brought to you thanks to the sketch over at Operation Write Home. I love these sketches because they make life so easy, the measurements are right there for you! How much better can that be?!

I am in serious need of putting in a new SU! order for some new stamps/paper/punches because using the same DSP and stamp sets is driving me a little crazy...not that that's a far drive or anything ;)

Have a great Monday!

{Paper} SU! Bashful Blue, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Celebrations DSP

Simple and Cute

I'm back...(gasp) on a Sunday! Now this is totally out of the norm but like I said yesterday I want to try to remember what sketches I use and post them to the challenge.

I discovered this blog a few moths ago and absolutely love the sketches. They are simple and easy and I can add as many layers as I want and it always has a clean look. The sketch I used is from CardPatterns sketch 105. I was going to make it a square but it ended up a normal size A2 card.

I love my owl punch! I need a name for him though, he just can't be Mr. Owl...I'm going to have to give this some thought =) I thought since yesterday's cupcake being popped up didn't look too hot I'd try it with the owl and it looks much better. This was the effect that I was looking for. So simple and easy, took me less than 30 min total to put all together. That includes punching and then loosing the eyes for the owl =)

Happy Sunday everyone, we're off to the swap meet to find goodies! Well, when everyone wakes up. Insomnia is not fun, I miss sleeping =( I think I might work on some boxes for tea lights today. I made some tealights and now they need boxes. I'll have to share that too =) Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

{Paper} SU! Chocolate Chip, Real Red, So Saffron, Whisper White, Old Olive, Play Date DSP

A New Chapter

So today is marking a new chapter. I'm going to "attempt" to enter the cards I make for different sketches, challenges etc. on a weekly basis. I always use the sketches and the color combos but I always forget to enter them, so I want to do this to share my creativity with others. When I first started all this crazy card making I used to surf all these sites and gather ideas to make cards. I haven't done this lately, I'm pretty much just down to using sketches with an exception here and there =)

So now for the card. I used the sketch from Eat, Sleep Stamp and the color combo from Inkspirations. This time I used a stamp image with my quote. I pretty much stayed with the sketch although looking at it now....it needs something, don't know what but definitely "something". I did stamp the image on the circle then I stamped it a separate time, cut it out and layered it on the bottom image to pop it out. It didn't give it the right look for me so I think that this just wasn't the right image to do it with.

This is pretty weird for me posting on a Saturday, let alone a Saturday afternoon. I did get in a 2 hour nap today so I'm betting on not sleeping tonight. Just makes more time for cards right?! Sleep is overrated....I think =) Hope your all having a fabulous weekend and I WILL be back tomorrow for another card!

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Pear Pizzazz (don't have Wild Wasabi), So Saffron, Whisper White, Play Date DSP
{Ink} SU! Rose Red, Silver (company unknown)

Not a Single Stamp =(

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Yesterday I woke up and thought it was Friday, only to realize it was Thursday. The world played a cruel joke on me. Needless to say I was glad to wake up today and it was really Friday!

Since I played with my Silhouette last weekend, I decided to make a flower. Every week Silhouette comes out with a free shape of the week. The flower on this card is that image. For the life of me I couldn't find a stamp image that fit just where I wanted so I have a whole stack of quotes and quotations and I really like this one and it happened to fit perfectly with the image.

I in particular need to pay more attention to this quote. It's no secret I'm not a fan of living in Southern California, we were excessed down here and to say the least it's been a very hard adjustment. I need to remember that wherever I am I need to bloom....easier said than done.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Nothing Like Hot Pink

There is nothing like the color hot pink.....or in this case Melon Mambo =) I used a sketch, forgot what sketch I used and am kicking myself. I hate when I do that because I can't enter the sketch contest =(

Oh well. A while ago I saw this painting dealy at Target and said that would be a pretty card, if it were's so huge. Time goes by and I forget about it until I look at my Valentine Defined set and decided to replicate the painting on a card. I just used white ink and I think it looks simple yet elegant. I held back on adding glitter to the hearts....it took everything in my being not to do that because I love glitter! So a simple card today, no promises for tomorrow though =)

Happy Hump Day!

Ingredients:
{Paper} SU! Basic Black, Melon Mambo
